Bottle of Rum (LUC)
Our LUC consisted of a bottle of "Black Pearl Rum". A keyed switch turned on our controller, and then a 16 position mechanical encoder functioned as the method for selecting which HZV to control, with a tricolor LED changing color with the team number for feedback. Turning the key one position farther establishes a connection with the HZV. The LED flashes green to indicate connection, and the user can now control a boat with the bottle as follows:
Forward Throttle: Press F position on neck of bottle (Force Sensing Resistor)
Reverse Throttle: Press R position on neck of bottle (Force sensing resistor)
Turn Left: Tilt the bottle to the left (Y axis of 3 axis accelerometer)
Turn Right: Tilt the bottle of the right (Y axis of 3 axis accelerometer)
Pop: Drink! (X axis of 3 axis accelerometer)
